Happy Monday! Hope y'all had a fabulous weekend! From following up on new interview sources and phone chatting about a new project in the works to enjoying two nights out in Hollywood and playing a little b-ball outside (phew!), I was heavily busy.
...And because I'm social media-obsessed (proud of it), I typically tweet about my randomness in one or another. So if you're on Twitter, which I'm thinking you definitely are, be sure to follow me! I'm totally into creating connections and building relationships with like-minded creatives, so yup - I follow back, retweet, and reply regularly.

From Me to You, I Say...
![]() |
Currently, I am working on a fashion article for Agenda Magazine, featuring the Lisa Kline -- the iconic, "Home of LA Style" businesswoman. I am also in the process of writing and piecing together the next Good Girl Gone Shopping blog post, which features my metropolitan teenage niece, Ashley, and her styling abilities in a hot pair of Burntie shoes.
And before I get some beauty sleep and begin planning my Tuesday at Plastic Surgery Studios, I am happy to take a moment to say thank you for your support and patience! This month of looooove is just another perfect time to show gratitude toward my family, friends, and fans. And my lovely readers, you are an overlapping species because you are my fuel. I appreciate every single one of you, and I look forward to continually connecting with y'all here, via comments and my contact form, and/or on Twitter, Facebook, and Pinterest.
Now go give someone a hug and show 'em how much you care! Do it...like now. xo

Show Your Personality with Pics on Pinterest!
After seeing many of my Facebook friends and Twitter peeps linking to pics on their Pinterest boards like...all the time, I finally decided to get the ball rollin' and see what all the hype is about. After all, I grew up with my bedroom walls plastered with my favorite rock stars, actresses, singers, models, and iconic magazine covers. And today, fast forward more than 15 years, I still love to be amongst this type of wall art. Currently, I have a collage of beauty ads that I've ripped out of mags, overlapping one another on my bathroom wall. From shots of Halle Berry to Gwen, it inspires me to embrace my own unique beauty as I get ready each morning for work! I am absolutely inspired by various types of visuals.
...Such as with this pic, which features Heather Petry, a Los Angeles/Inland Empire fashion designer and blogger (who I met over a year ago at a private Kevan Hall showing in downtown LA). I repinned this pic of her and added it to my "Fashion is Art" board recently. Wearing a strikingly colorful, nod-to-the-60s vintage dress, Heather consistently embodies true, unique style.
And when it comes to true, unique style, that is exactly what I'm enjoying about Pinterest -- it's a community space where you can share an image and let it speak for itself. From fashion to food, and everything somewhere in between, Pinterest is just what I need when my fingers need a rest from typing and brain can't form a simple sentence anymore. I love pretty pictures!
So, two thumbs up! As a Pinterest newbie, I am here to stay! Follow me and be sure to follow Heather.

GIVEAWAY: Win TWO 'Cutey' Charm Bracelets!
So I was recently contacted by cutey, a new, European-based, jewelry company (founded in 2011). After introducing me to cutey, the lovely rep Ashley offered an exclusive giveaway for my Good Girl Gone Shopping readers. She didn't just offer one reader the chance to win one of their exclusive charm bracelets, she offered the winner the opportunity to win TWO charm bracelets. How generous! After I checked out the cutey site, I knew this was a match made in heaven. And here's why I'm sorta falling in love with this company:
- The charm bracelets definitely epitomize the name of the company, as each is unique and adorable. Shows they definitely know their product (and marketing!)
- Affordability factor!!! In USD, each bracelet is under 25 bucks ($20.99 to be exact).
- FREE DELIVERY ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD
- Their "About" section is thorough and really shows cutey's ethics and personality. (.i.e, Principles, Goals)
- An easy-to-navigate site. Just as it is important for a store to be neat and tidy, an online boutique site should allow for enjoyable browsing and a no-hassle experience.
Below are the two cutey charm bracelets I specifically selected for the special winner (with a brief description as to why I chose each piece):
Here are my rules for this giveaway. All you gotta do is:
(1) Follow me on Twitter
(2) Tweet about this contest, which must include a link to this article
(3) Leave a comment at the end of this post, linking to your Twitter page
I will choose the winner based on the most creative tweet, which I will retweet on Monday, March 5, 2012.
*Contest is open to everyone throughout the world, and you can tweet about the contest as often as you'd like. However, just leave one comment at the end of this post with a link to your Twitter page. Note: Just because these charm bracelets are designed for women, you don't have to be a woman to win! (You may have a girlfriend, wife, sister, mama, or BFF who loves charm bracelets! What a perfect opportunity to get them a gift without spending a dime.)
GOOD LUCK lovelies!

I'll Be Back Mi Amigas!
Good evening my lovelies!! Hope your 2012 is starting off on the right foot. If it hasn't, remember: Tomorrow is always a new day to start fresh!
...And I know, not posting for more than a month is NO BUENO. But my wheels are always turning in regards to providing you unique articles. I even had a fabulous, insightful discussion with a social media wiz today about "quality vs. quantity" when it comes to blogging, which was quite inspirational. Please understand that I want to connect with you as often as possible, but in my book, quality always surpasses quantity. That said, I appreciate your patience as I let my ideas marinate...
So until I return, please keep up with my sudden bursts of thoughts (budget-conscious shopping tips, shout-outs to fabulous news stories and professionals, how this or that song on Pandora brings me back to a fave memory, etc.). You can do so "liking" my Good Girl Gone Shopping Facebook Page and following me on Twitter.
If you are interested in any of my professional services, would like to learn about advertising or partnership opportunities, or simply want to just say hello to your favorite personal shopper (EVER!), please feel free to contact me. I personally respond to each and every email.
xoxo,
Elana

Social Networking and Stylish Contacts

I spend a large portion of my time (in between writing, editing, and personal shopping) on social networks like Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, ClosetMouse, and BlogCatalog. There are tons of really interesting contacts out there! Are you actively involved in networking and meeting those who share your passion? I, myself, have benefitted immensely from spending time on sites such as these.
While I don't believe that networking on the Internet is the only way to grow your inner circle, I do believe that these resources are advantageous and will help to market yourself. These are places where you can discuss what you do, why you do it, and how well you do it.
Please feel free to add me as your friend on these networks (just click on the links above to connect to my profile!):
Get what you want out of life by putting yourself out there. That is my tip of the day! You never know who could be seeking your services, products, and/or expertise.
Have fun and happy networking! Grab some coffee, tea, a cocktail (but just one!) while you communicate. Opportunities await you.

Send me a Tweet! This is one Twitter Addict Who Wants to Chat With Ya!
When I am not browsing Google images of my favorite celebrity fashion picks, checking myspace bulletins and approving comments, proofing news articles and marketing pages for my full-time gig at PlasticSurgery.com (and Beauty Chat), rating cool looks and uploading pics on Lucky Style Spotter, brainstorming and developing a topic revolved around 'Good Girl Gone Shopping' for Chic Galleria, putting together my "100 Bucks or Less Column" (and apologizing for missing my deadlines!) for Fashion Chicago Magazine, communicating about events with my editor at Agenda Magazine, and (phew!) of course, not blogging here with y'all...I'm on Twitter!
Feel free to send me a tweet. I talk about it all on there -- and then some.
