Kat Von D Hooks Up With Sephora for Own Makeup Line!
So, I am delighted to hear that Kat Von D of LA Ink (and former beloved tattoo artist on Miami Ink) has launched her own makeup line with Sephora, and making it a natural stem of her personality: cute and edgy. As for her fashion sense, I am always in awe of her gutsiness and so happy to see this beauty do her thang. Love her!
(More details about Kat's new makeup line soon to come on Beauty Chat!)

Shop It To Me with Your Online Personal Shopper!
This is the day and age of fast information, and getting it right now. I mean my life stops if an e-mail going out gets stuck in my Outlook send folder for whatever reason.
And pretty much -- I'm the same way when it comes to personal shopping. Not only do I, a personal shopper within close distance to Los Angeles, want to deliver instant results to my clients; I hope that as they shop around for themselves online, they are provided with what they're searching for. But finding exactly what they are searching for is not always that simple.
Although I'm really into zafu.com, a popular destination site for jean shopping, my new fave is Shop It To Me. After the brains behind this site learn just what you're looking for, they go out as your "personal shopper" and figure out which sites have what you desire. For instance, if you're looking for a new Juicy Couture sweatsuit in the latest Spring color, Shop It To Me will scour online stores and boutiques such as Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, or Bluefly, before notifing you when that site has your size or the sale price you're looking for. Hello -- FABULOUS, right? Oh, and a lovely detail you don't wanna miss out on: it's a FREE service.
And here is how this San Francisco-based company evolved (straight from them...don't you just love "About Me" pages?):
"Shop It To Me began after one too many frustrating trips to on-line retailers. We were tired of finding out about on-line sales too late. We were too busy to spend hours each day searching the web for the latest deals. Why couldn't we just give someone our preferences and have them search for us?
So we decided to create a different way to shop.
Our first service, Shop It To Me Apparel, proactively sends you clothing that matches your size and brand preferences as soon as it goes on sale. Shop It To Me Running allows you to find out when your favorite running shoe models and running gear go on sale. It's so easy that you will never shop the same way again."
Try it out, and share your experience with me! If you need my assistance with figuring out the styles you might want to consider, and where to even start, before taking advantage of Shop It To Me, please contact me. I'd love to chat with you.
Happy Saturday!

Detox for the Soul
With Travertine's Spa newest product available, the Hydrating Body Mist perfect for both men and women seeking renewal, and a summer sale on massage oils, Terry knows the importance of Wellness. And here is his latest!
By Terry Carter
Wellness Editor
I have been reading lately about “detoxing.” I was looking at this from the perspective of cleansing my body from the unhealthy things I ingest. My goal was to feel renewed. A fresh start.
Even better I thought was a detox of the soul. No, not an exorcism, but a time to really check out and heal from pressure, stress, personal issuesm and assorted drama. Haven’t you ever felt the need to just run away? Be still? Rest?
I do.
Once or twice a year I go to a monastery. I usually spend one day silent (no talking at all) and one day fasting. The amazing thing is that when I do speak again, I notice how much mindless chatter takes place instead of true communication. I am settled. Less anxious. I become closer to God and a bit more aware.
Find a quiet place where you can connect to what is important…and shake off the things that weigh you down. Don’t forget your favorite books and PJ’s.
My favorite places for rest are:
Mount Calvary Retreat House
Mission San Luis Rey
Prince of Peace Abbey

The TotalBeauty Blog Summit in Los Angeles
I missed this past weekend, but with Denice and Leeann spending their Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with other fabulous beauty bloggers -- I know that bases were covered.
Check out Beauty Chat, which features the pics and what went down at the TotalBeauty Blog Summit in Manhattan Beach!
(But I did enjoy my time in San Diego, from dancing downtown to eating homemade tortillas in Old Town. My mini-vacation was definitely what I needed. And next time, I will be sure to check out Extraordinary Desserts in Little Italy. According to Terry of Travertine Spa, who is also Diary of a Personal Shopper's Wellness Editor, I haven't lived yet until I try it out!)

The Good Girl Goes Down South
Steve's birthday is on Monday, so we're heading down to San Diego for a few days. Yipee! With the heat predicted to be blazin' this weekend, and my new turquoise sundress ready to wear, I'm ready to do NOTHING but relax. (I was just there a two weekends ago for the ASAPS show with PlasticSurgery.com and it was great!)
But I AM bummed out that I won't make it to the TotalBeauty Blog Summit in LA this weekend representing Beauty Chat. So thank you Denice and Leeann! Have a fabulous time doing your thing. Remember: pictures, pictures!!!
Have a great weekend.

Misikko For All of Your Hair Care Beauty Tools (and I mean ALL)!
Talk about convenience! Missiko.com, a Philadelphia-based consumer-driven Web site featuring the newest innovations in the hair & beauty industry, offers 2-day FREE shipping on purchases $50 and over. That's an amazing deal, especially if you're like me and truly hate waiting on the products you crave.
I heart my pink CHI flat iron, as it is has been my must-have hair care tool for the last year. The good side is that I can get it just nearly as straight as my hair dresser June can, which allows me to go into the shop a bit less and save money in the process, but it does get really hot in my hands when using it for longer than 20 minutes (which has caused me to drop it a few time. Yes, yikes). So, I am currently trying out one of Misikko's fabulous flat irons and will provide a new product review for you about this hair care tool on Beauty Chat, coming soon!
Until then, check out Missiko.com and see how diverse a selection of products and services they offer. Some of what caught my eye was:
- Beauty Tips - Want to know how to use a flat iron or curling iron? Now, you can pick up some new insight on what TO do and what NOT to do, while saving face and not having to ask your friend, sister, or hairstylist. You'll already be in the know!
- Shampoo for men - I am not familiar with "Phyto Phytoaxil Shampoo," but it is said to be "a great energizing cocktail for men with hereditary hair loss". For your boyfriend or husband? (Could be a good start if a hair transplant is out of the question.)
- Bath and Body - If you want to have good quality hair, it is highly likely that you want good quality skin care and makeup. From acne supplements to bath salts and bubbles -- yup, the products featured on Misikko.com are vast!
- Teeth Whitening and Lip Plumpers - A beautiful smile and being in good oral health could also give you that extra confidence boost (in addition to the compliments you might receive about your lovely 'do...)
The goal of Missiko.com: "To help you learn about the tools of the trade so you can find the right salon tools & products at the right prices - whenever & wherever the mood strikes." Nicely put, and making it all about meeting the needs of the consumer is, in my book, the making of excellent customer service. (Be sure to look for my review on Beauty Chat Blog soon!)

How organized are you?
I lead a busy life. Running a natural body care company, a resort apparel line, and the associated travel can leave me tired, overwhelmed and unorganized. I realized that I developed a pattern of clean, organize, destroy, clean, organize, destroy in my office.
Papers, press clippings, products, receipts, CDs and mail (unopened) were a mental ball and chain. I felt weighed down. A while ago I saw a segment on Tyra about Star Hansen, an organization expert. I wrote down the name and filed it away.
Last week I called Star and set up a weekend appointment to attack my office. To my credit, my office is not a disaster, but I tend to make piles and then put the piles in cardboard boxes and focus on immediate projects. Star showed up exactly on time, full of energy, and surveyed my office. She helped me understand the patterns I have and how to break them. She even made me walk through how I open my mail. Instead of opening some and leaving the rest on my desk, she helped me to create a system of sorting my mail and placing items for my assistant to file in a designated place.
After seven hours and a trip to buy storage supplies, I have a clean, organized, and well-functioning office. I have a realistic system to keep me from creating the same mistakes again and a (nice stitched leather) box to place items in that I just can’t get to. More importantly, I feel like my office matches the calmness of the spa lifestyle that I live. My mind is clear and I can respond faster because I’m not looking for the same documents over and over.
Are you feeling overwhelmed with clutter? Not sure where to start? Call Star. On a budget? Call a good friend, put on some good music, and just start from the top of the pile. Focus on one area at a time so that you can see progress. Take a break every 2 hours and see just what you can accomplish in a day.

Bling for Your Toes? One Beauty Chatter Says Fo Sho.
I have never been one to accessorize my toes. Nope, not me! BUT should I ever dare attract others to my toes, I would wanna do so with a little class. A little shine.
Denice of KDC Events and Beauty Details is also Beauty Chat's resident pedi-lover (or anything rejuvenating having to do with thy feet). I love her for that. This is why she presents to you: "Do Your Feet Lack Bling?"
For me, I'll stick to adding glitz to my upper half, like my earrings, necklaces, and rings. Then again, it's not like I don't care for dressing up my feet at ALL. I just prefer to do so with hot heels or cute flats.
Again, that's just me. But what about you?

I'm Wishing on a Star...
But instead of having to look up, I look down and enjoy my own shooting stars. Just giving you a little more of me. Don't think I'll be getting tattoo removal any time soon (we'll see how much it stretches when I have a baby one day....)! In fact, I'm asking Elaine Biss to design my next one...

Your Site is Like Soooo Blogalicious!
Here’s what’s the haps on some of my favorite go-to blogs (the ones I try to squeeze into my day amongst the chaotic life of: an editorial manager at PlasticSurgery.com, the scatter-brained editor of Beauty Chat, and the Target-loving girl behind ‘Good Girl Gone Shopping’):
* Angel over at Chic Stories shares her shock for the recent Miley Cyrus’ semi-nude back pose for Vanity Fair, and compares the Elle cover shots of Sarah Jessica Parker vs. Madonna
* Kori of The Fashion-y Blog debates the thought of dying her hair an “unnatural hair color,” as she notices it going more mainstream, and shows the recent Hilary Clinton photoshop pics of a “Dressing the President” feature in Harper’s Bazaar
* Elaine of Divapreneur talks up the gracious Diva Charity Event go-getters who are donating their services and products for fabulous causes
* Beth of My Chic Things reminds us that Mother’s Day is right around the corner, and Ciao Bella is a big must-have for you or your mama
* Gala of iCiNG reminds us the importance of journaling and tracking our personal growth and transformation. Are you the same person you were a year ago?
* Trina of Big Girls Don’t Cry shows us that a bright, blue camisole can take you far with several options.
* Raquel of House of Raquel invites you to secure your advertising spot on her Top 100 Site list – only $25 for a full year.
* Jill of Trendinista gives us her own rundown of what’s hot over at her weekend blog reads.
* Tammy of White Iris Designs shows us snapshots of her son and prom date, including samples of beautiful floral creations. Think tropical shades of orange and green!
* Denice of KDC Events shows us the important things in a mother’s life, such as pics of her 5-year-old’s Spongebob birthday party!
* Leeann of Join the Gossip says Happy Birthday to Lilly Allen and shares six of her “unspectacular quirks”
