I Just Blogged...To Say... I Love You...

Y'all know how much I enjoy chit-chatting with you, right here, on Good Girl Gone Shopping, right? I seriously get so excited to reach out to everyone. But being involved with various projects recently has taken a bit of my time away from blogging. However, I am always planning my next step. So yes, there will be more exciting articles, interviews, and contests to come!

I hope your week rocks and that you accomplish all that you set out to do. (If need be, please feel free to contact me! I respond to all e-mails personally.)

Hugs!

Cotton Dresses to Stay Cool

As I write this, I am wearing a thin, cotton sundress in turquoise. (I bought it from Macy's about a year ago, in the juniors department. They have such cute flirty styles.) Because it's soooo dang hot out here, in Southern California, I am continuously stocking up on the best fashion to keep me cool. And cotton dresses are at the top of my list! They are comfy and versatile, and whether you are interested in a printed style or a solid-colored hue -- this should be a staple in your closet if you are prone to the sun beating down on you (Seriously, it's like 106 today.)

To see what other stylish summer staples I recommend, check out my recent article on Brownsista.com!

Fashionable Celeb Lindsay Lohan Goes to the Slammer

Celebrities are no different from the "normal" person who has to pay for bad behavior. So the fact that Lindsay Lohan now gets jail time...Is it justice served? But I suppose whatever happens to her, happens to her. Just wonder if she'll be able do wardrobe changes in jail like she apparently did for court. I don't want to start gossiping or misinforming y'all about her court hearings, so the information about this trial will stop now.

What I DO like about Lindsay Lohan is her fashion sense. Many may not agree with me, but that's fine. We all have different taste! Whether she would hit the streets rocker-clad or hit the red carpet sexy and chic, she always managed to be a topic of some sort of discussion in the media. (I also love the fact that she came out with her own legging line.)

So featured above are some of my favorite Lindsay Lohan fashion moments. Do you dig her style?

Preparing for Moving Day: Cleaning Out My Closet

In one week, I will be moving into a loft. As excited as I am -- moving into a big artsy space downtown -- I will be losing something that I have grown used to: junk closets and drawers. Currently, my second closet in the second bedroom has been a convenient storage area for extra shoes, clothes, photo albums, old college textbooks, and small workout machinary. Yup, all of that fit in there. But what am I supposed to do with all of that now, as I prepare for our move? Well, I have no choice but to do a closet-cleanup and rid myself of what I don't use and what takes up too much space. As I move from a place that is full of children chitter-chatter outside to an upstairs space that sits right above a wine bar, I am moving into a place that has no hiding spaces. I think this is a good thing, ultimately, because it allows me to condense my junk and simplify my life.

Even as an Inland Empire and Los Angeles personal shopper and wardrobe consultant, in which I help others clean out their closet -- I, myself, have work to do. It's a never-ending battle, really. You know, reducing the amount of clutter in you wardrobe. But so far, I have no regrets. However, I still fear a little that I will actually gid rid of something that I still really want. Then again, if I've forgotten it's actually there and/or it doesn't fit correctly or comfortably -- it's not worth holding onto. Plus, there are those who could benefit from what I have. I was excited when I saw my gold Chinese Laundry heels priced for $5.99 at the Goodwill the other day. Someone will get a good deal! (I often donate my stuff to the Goodwill. This time, however, will be my biggest clean-up and clean-out process ever.)

Have you ever gotten rid of something that you wish you would have held onto?

My Favorite Summer Must-Have: The White Tank

I love how clean a crisp, white tank is -- especially the sporty boy-ish style. Perfect for summer, it can be dressed up, dress down, worn as is, or incorporated as a layering piece. It's such a brilliant, simple item that can go unrecognized as a must-have. I typically get my tanks in the men's underwear section, in packs of three, at Kohls. Less than 20 bucks, these tanks are totally versatile. I work out in them also!

So don't forget to have at least one white tank in your wardrobe. It's easy and effortless. And that's what fashion is all about!
