'Splurge' -- The Shopping App You're Likely to Obsess Over!

Happy Wednesday lovelies! I gotta give you a heads-up on what I'm currently writing about for Agenda Magazine. It may very well be taking over fashionistas' mobile devices everywhere! Enter "Splurge" -- a shopping/fashion app that offers you the unique experience of browsing dynamic sales with ease. You will not be thrown pages and pages of the same brand, leaving you totally turned-off and ready to log out. From small designers to couture designers, the merchandise selection is specially curated by a team of specialists at Splurge.

I learned about this new app during my morning meeting with co-founder Albert Dahan (CEO, Joe’s Jeans kids, Da-Nang, Stitch, American Vintage) at the relaxing, bohemian-style Petit Ermitage hotel in West Hollywood, Sunday morning. His passion really sparked my interest, and I really wanna tell you so much more about the development of Splurge, how it looks to be revolutionizing the ability of online shopping, as well as introduce two of the brains behind such a product (Eric Dahan and Zach Crosner). But before you know it, my Agenda article will be out for you to check out.

Until then, feel free to read some of the resourceful articles that have shed light on Splurge:

- "Splurge App Touts Retail Sales" by Women's Wear Daily (Rachel Brown)
- "Go Ahead and SPLURGE!" by The Los Angeles Fashion Magazine (Julianna Maranon)

Now available to download on iTunes! Happy Shopping! xo

5 Things to Consider Before Buying a Colored Leather Jacket

I've yet to purchase a new jacket this fall. With SoCal weather still in the 80s and 90s, I don't necessarily feel ready; but it would be smart to gradually add on lovely pieces to my wardrobe. And bright is always right in my book -- every season deserves some sunshine.

I've always been obsessed with Gwen's confidence to completely own a new style. And lately, seeing her don pink and blue leather motorcycle jackets...I'm totally digging on this trend. I definitely want me a colored-leather, motorcycle-ish jacket in my closet for some edge and flair. Assuming that many of you are getting turned on by this trend as well, I think there are a few things to think about before spending your money.

Here are 5 things to consider before buying a colored leather jacket:

(1) Know what color would look best against your skin. This is a very bold trend, so the exact color you choose should enhance the tone of your skin. For instance, is a coral hue really the best choice? Before you make a purchase, you may want to send a pic to a friend and get a second opinion.

(2) Consider your budget. If you don't see yourself wearing it for more than a few months, do you want to spend hundreds of bucks on it? Or does a faux, colored leather jacket (from say, Forever 21 or Target) make more sense for you and your budget?

(3) Is it comfortable?  Definitely stretch your arms around when trying on the jackets. Whether you plan to wear a colored leather jacket just for practical reasons or plan to keep it on all through the day while typing at your computer, you wanna make sure it is comfy and allows for ease of movement. Appearing awkward when trying new fashion trends can make you look straight silly.

(4) Is it a natural fit in your lifestyle? Consider your occupation, what you do for fun, where you live, etc. before investing in this trend. You never want to waste money on an item just because celebs are wearing it and fashion media says its the hottest thing to own this season. As I always say: Just 'cause a trend works for one person, doesn't mean it works for you.

(5) Will it naturally complement the rest of your wardrobe?  Definitely consider your overall wardrobe. Will it work with various outfits? When in doubt, throw it on top of an all-black outfit, and you'll exude an instant chic vibe. If wearing that much color on top just doesn't interest you (and you feel safer with a black leather jacket), use colored accessories, handbags, and shoes to show off your style. You would be surprised with how simple it can be to incorporate drama in your outfit with a subtle touch.

If you already have a colored leather jacket, I'd love to hear all about it or see pics! Please feel free to comment on this post, or upload a pic of yourself in it on the Good Girl Gone Shopping Facebook page

Have a great week! xoxo
