(Yeezy Season 1-Inspired) Flesh-Toned Fashion Accessories!

(Set created on www.polyvore.com)
I'm a lover of bold tones, including teal and black. But there are times when I want to incorporate something softer into my outfits...something that will add a nice touch of boho-chic sophistication.

And while I wouldn't necessarily describe Kanye's new women's fashion collection - in collabo with Adidas - as a "sophisticated" range of styles (his bodysuits and body hugging styles are risqué and leave little to anyone's imagination), I appreciate some of the flesh-toned "somber" colors he chose as well as the simplicity of his collection. When watching clips of his February 2015 showcase, held on the first day of New York Fashion Week on YouTube (didn't make it to NY this season!), I was really digging it. But I also realized that shades of cream, beige, and browns don't complement most women's bodies from head to toe - especially worn skin-tight.

That's where accessories come in!

As you can see from the my Yeezy Season 1-inspired Polyvore set, I chose pieces that could work in nicely with nearly any color - especially white and black. As an LA blogger who strives to inspire, this is intended to get you thinking about the flesh-toned pieces you may already have in your closet and jewelry box! And if you feel you're lacking in these colors, nearly every single retail shop you come across -- from Ross and Forever 21 to Bebe and Nordstrom -- you will find some treats. Want something waaaay unique and rare? A flea market is your best bet.

Happy Hunting!

Bow Ties: The New Boy Accessory?

P. Diddy's previous assistant, Fonworth "Umbrella Holder" Bentley wore them, and celebrity fashion stylist Rachel Zoe's assistant Brad sports his regularly. But now Chris Brown?

Recently, in his much-anticipated (or most dreaded) interview with Larry King, Chris Brown wore a bow tie and a baby blue sweater. Critics, especially the Power 106 (105.9) crew on "Big Boy in the Morning" expressed their distaste for his style, commenting on it looking ridiculous and just not working with his persona.

It seems to me that it was sort of a smart move on his stylist's or his people's behalf. After all, how much can you hate a young guy dressed preppy and innocently? If he were to have worn a black leather jacket and a bandana, well, that would have demonized him even more. So, as for a strategic public stunt, I understand. As for bow ties becoming a new boy accessory, I just can't dig it. The silliness and laughter takes over me, and I feel that it is such an unnatural choice.

Don't get me wrong: I LOVE when both men and women explore their style and express their personality with new trends, cuts, and colors. Kanye (my fave) even appears wearing bow ties! With him, I get it. I mean, if he can rock a black mullet -- he can rock anything. Chris Brown, on the other hand, I just don't feel that you are an authentic bow tie kind of guy. Especially not when the same hands crossed in this pic are the same hands that tore up Rihanna's face. (This is me ALLEGEDLY saying he did this.) I just don't buy it Chris.

So all I say is be true to your style. If this is really on a guy's must-have list of accessories, then he should wear it proudly. Other than that, let's leave the outrageousness to the celebs who get publicity whether they make it on the good or bad-dressed list.

Would YOU like to see your man, brother, or friend start to wear bow ties? (Steve, my boyfriend, has mentioned that he may want to wear one....oh boy...)

Estelle -- A West London Girl With a Fabulous Hit and Fabulous Shoes

I'm lovin' me some Estelle -- the West London-born singer who is fashionably clad and my new favorite style maven. She's that brilliant voice in "American Boy," from her Shine soundtrack (which Steve says he will get me cause I talk about her all the time...). I'm obsessed with that tune, with her, and of course, with Kanye. Plus, her style is so amazing that she makes me want to go buy some new shoes, as well as go old-school and pick up her older albums.

Watch - and DANCE - to "American Boy" on YouTube!
