(Yeezy Season 1-Inspired) Flesh-Toned Fashion Accessories!

(Set created on www.polyvore.com)
I'm a lover of bold tones, including teal and black. But there are times when I want to incorporate something softer into my outfits...something that will add a nice touch of boho-chic sophistication.

And while I wouldn't necessarily describe Kanye's new women's fashion collection - in collabo with Adidas - as a "sophisticated" range of styles (his bodysuits and body hugging styles are risqué and leave little to anyone's imagination), I appreciate some of the flesh-toned "somber" colors he chose as well as the simplicity of his collection. When watching clips of his February 2015 showcase, held on the first day of New York Fashion Week on YouTube (didn't make it to NY this season!), I was really digging it. But I also realized that shades of cream, beige, and browns don't complement most women's bodies from head to toe - especially worn skin-tight.

That's where accessories come in!

As you can see from the my Yeezy Season 1-inspired Polyvore set, I chose pieces that could work in nicely with nearly any color - especially white and black. As an LA blogger who strives to inspire, this is intended to get you thinking about the flesh-toned pieces you may already have in your closet and jewelry box! And if you feel you're lacking in these colors, nearly every single retail shop you come across -- from Ross and Forever 21 to Bebe and Nordstrom -- you will find some treats. Want something waaaay unique and rare? A flea market is your best bet.

Happy Hunting!

Gregori Lukas: The Stylish 'Stay' Singer Embraces Both Fashion and Music

(Gregori Lukas/ Michelle Babyak Photography)

I recently had the pleasure of chatting with Gregori Lukas, an American singer, dancer, and actor who lives for fashion. Our interview will be coming soon to Agenda Magazine, and naturally, I have to give you a heads-up! Gregori has appeared with the New York City Ballet in numerous productions and is best known for playing the title role in George Balanchine's Nutcracker at the New York State Theater. Currently, he is working towards finishing up his upcoming EP by Summer 2014, striving to embark on modeling, and looking forward to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York this September. No stranger to runway shows, Gregori's been attending Fashion Week since 2008, when it was still "Olympus Fashion Week" in Bryant Park.

I encourage you to download his single, "Stay," a beautiful song about the heart-wrenching experience of one's first love ("I never thought it wasn't real..."). The piano version of his ballad can also be downloaded for free on MTV.com. Simply lovely. Also, be sure to visit his website to learn some more about this fabulous, stylish entertainer!

My Run-In With Pop-Punk Princess Eryn Woods During New York Fashion Week!

(Me and Pop-Punk Princess Eryn Woods!)

It was ultra freezing during (my first trip to) New York. I mean, ridiculous chilly. Like 22 degrees and below. (I actually left before it got unbearable, I've heard.) But that didn't stop the fiery explosion of this week-long east coast event! One of my memorable moments was in the lobby of Studio 450 on West 31st Street. As a bunch of us guests for the Darkoh show piled into the lobby of Studio 450, shivering and happy to get inside somewhere warm, I had the pleasure of watching pop-punk princess Eryn Woods come in from the cold looking ultra-fab. I originally saw this style queen walk the runway for Tumbler & Tipsy during one of last year's Project Ethos events, and wow...I was blown away by her confidence, charisma, and insane sense of unique style! Totally ironic that I ran into her in New York, because I've always meant to contact her and request an interview in LA. So perfect timing for me to introduce myself, request that interview, and score this awesome photo. For some exciting fashion and music inspiration, check out her website, follow her on Twitter and Instagram, and stay tuned for my interview on Agenda Magazine!

The 'Good Girl Gone Shopping' Hits New York for Fashion Week!

(Lincoln Center! I've arrived...)

It's ridiculously chilly in New York...and I'm loving the change! I'm a born-and-bred SoCal girl, and typically I love weather that makes me sweat and wanna keep my toes dipped in the sand. But this season I'm embracing the east coast coolness (as long as I'm bundled up).  Hittin' several amazing shows during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week with my blogger niece, Ashley Gummerson, New York Fashion Week is inspiring and a big 'ol networking hub. Some of the hot shows I've attended include Nicholas K, Desigual, Richard Chai, and Mark and Estel. Stay tuned for my runway rundowns coming soon to Agenda Magazine! I'll also be posting photos on Good Girl Gone Shopping, featuring some fun moments from my trip.

This month, you can also look forward to some new interviews, giveaways, and shopping tips. I hope you're having a fabulous week! Hugs...xoxo.
