Boyfriend Band Tees

So I love wearing my boyfriend's band tees! His Rolling Stones and AC/DC black tees are my fave. Slightly oversized, worn-in, and comfy, I especially go in his drawers on the weekend when it's time to run errands, clean, or shop! Lately, however, I have been dressing them up with other pieces, besides jeans. I have worn them with a blazer and slacks, pencil skirt and heels, and even leggings and boots. While this style is not new to the scene (celebs such as Lindsay Lohan and Mary Kate Olsen are known to flaunt this grunge-like look), it's one of those effortless styles that are fun and edgy.

But what if you don't have a partner whose closet you can ransack? Well, head on over to local spots that carry rock tees (whether actual band tees or graphic tees that are rock-inspired). For worn-in band shirts, your local thrift store or vintage hot spot is likely to have great finds, while Hot Topic offers the smell and feel of newness. For rock-inspired tees with music elements and slogans, check out Forever 21, Target, Urban Outfitters, and some of the other sites featured above.

Rock on!

Even Bloggers Get Stumped

So there are tons of things that I currently want to write about tonight on Good Girl Gone Shopping: the best summer fashion, celebrity trends, shopping for the right heels at an affordable cost, and the retail outlets with excellent customer service. I even thought about giving tidbits of information about my first book (Yes, I'm in the process of writing one.) But narrowing down what is blogworthy at the moment is a challenge, because there is sooooo much under the sun to cover.

So instead of just skipping out on writing tonight, I just thought I'd share where my mind is. It's everywhere! But most importantly, it's on y'all. I truly appreciate you for regularly visiting and hanging out! Keep it coming as I soon will sort out what comes next.

Until then, I will check out some of my favorite fashion blogs, communicate with contacts on Facebook and Twitter, and then make some time for "The Real Housewives of New York City."

I'm just stumped folks. It happens!

And the Winner of the $50 Marshalls Gift Card Goes To...

Nerrissa Smith of Los Angeles!

After asking y'all how you would stylize one of my recent Marshalls finds, Nerrisa explained how she would wear my new, Kenar blue blouse! Here was her response:

"I love the blue ruffle top! I would wear it with denim shorts, black boyfriend blazer, straw fedora, with a chunky necklace and some cute tan leather sandals with a wooden heel. :) Great summer look!"

The creative ensemble is a one-of-a-kind look, is weather-appropriate, and shows off her glam personality! So enjoy Nerrissa, as Marshalls offers a wide selection of fashion for less.

Stay tuned for more contests on Good Girl Gone Shopping!

My First Wearable Hat

I recently entered a contest on Fashion, Love, and Martinis (I love Amanda!) to win a Private Plane Originals Hat. And lucky me! I won. I couldn't resist trying to win a black plush hat such as this. It's comfy and soft (100 percent polyster), has a short brim, and ties in the back. Soooooo cute. I can't wait to take it with me on my upcoming Vegas trip. A perfect sporty-chic addition to my wardrobe!

Other types of hats either fit too tight or don't sit appropriately and comfortably on my head. But this adjustable hat is perfect for me. I will wear with confidence!

Socializing is Good for the Soul

Amidst being the senior editor at PlasticSurgeryStudios.com, building my personal shopping business, and providing articles here, on the Good Girl Gone Shopping blog, I am allowing myself to relax and spend time with friends who are dear to me! Socializing is good for the soul as it can provide an overall rejuvenation.

What I've learned thus far in life: chit-chatting and laughing helps to ease any stress you may feel from areas of your life that may feel unbearable or downright hopeless. Surrounding yourself with those who appreciate you and respect you is important! You will definitely benefit from relaxing with your loved ones, both family and friends. (My sister and I recently went to see Chelsea Handler live at Citywalk in Hollywood...and boy we had a great Friday night out!)

Maintaining a strong career is important -- I can attest to that. Maintaining strong friendships is also essential when it comes to growing and meeting your fullest potential. Friendships can provide wonderful support, encouragement, and a unique high!

What are some of your favorite things to do with your friends?

Hot Shades

Chic Shades

The warm weather is approaching! That said, do you have a pair of chic shades to protect your eyes and express your personality? There are so many styles out there, that it can feel like a lost cause when it comes to shopping for the best pair. Fortunately, there are retail professionals and optometrists to help you in your picking. As an Inland Empire, Los Angeles, and Orange County personal shopper, I understand another difficulty in finding a pair of sunglasses -- the cost. Designer wear can definitely cost a few hundred, but designer-INSPIRED could be all of 20 bucks! So evaluate your budget, shop smart, and have fun!
